Radiographic Inspection - RT Radiographic examination (RT) is suitable for detecting volumetric internal and external defects. If there are differences in density between the defect and the base material, the discontinuity can be detected. Contrast and resolution affect the detection of such details. The contrast depends on the thickness of the material, the radiation source, the scattered radiation and the dissolving capacity of the X-ray film. There are other derivatives of the standard RT study. In particular Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR). The difference exists mainly in the film and the materials used to absorb the radiation. At CR it is possible to scan and digitize the film. By DR, the film is immediately connected to a computer, where it is possible to follow the radiation live, up to perform dynamic recordings yourself. The advantages are : Shorter radiation times and Fast digitized results.
