Compatibility of products with plastic piping
Filling the information gap
Selecting the right plastic piping materials for chemical service is critical for maintaining safe and reliable operations. In most cases, compatibility information can be found in manufacturer specifications or publicly available databases. However, some chemical-product combinations fall outside the scope of existing data, leaving operators without a clear answer.

large-scale Asset Integrity Program
Following an incident within a refinery process unit, a major asset integrity program was initiated to assess the condition of critical piping systems across a large industrial installation. The objective was clear: verify the integrity of critical assets, identify potential accelerated internal corrosion, and confirm material compliance across thousands of piping components and welds.
OKcert
TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium Publishes
2025 OKcert Monitoring Overview
A certification mark is only as strong as the vigilance behind it. At TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, our OKcert team spends the year tracking how certified products actually perform on the market, verifying products which carry our logo still matches what our engineers assessed, and acting swiftly whenever it doesn’t.
Asset Integrity
Steel in all its alloys is the most common material for which customers ask us to perform a root cause analysis in case of failure. However, from time to time, there are more exotic materials among them. One such case will be discussed here, more specifically a failure analysis on tungsten carbide. This is one of the hardest materials known, except for diamond.
Asset Integrity
Eddy Current Testing (ET) is an electromagnetic testing (EMT) method, where a high frequency alternating magnetic field is used to induce currents in the material under examination. ET is a non-contact method, which makes it able to inspect conductive materials covered by thin coatings and paints. This makes it a very good alternative to dye penetrant inspection (PT) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI), also said magnetic testing (MT) since it requires less surface preparation.
AET
Reaching a new level in Acoustic Emission expertise
A new milestone
A new milestone has been achieved within our asset integrity capabilities with the successful attainment of Level 3 certification in Acoustic Emission Testing (AT3) in accordance with ISO 9712. This achievement marks an important step forward in strengthening technical expertise and reinforcing our commitment to high-quality non-destructive testing (NDT) services.
