TÜV AUSTRIA Group has built up a large competence network for the automotive sector in recent years. Now the scope of accreditation in the ECE area has been additionally extended.
The Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) was founded in 1958 to reduce technical barriers to international trade. ECE regulations focus on type approval for vehicles and their components; ECE regulations are recognized by many countries outside the EU – such as Japan, Turkey or Australia and South Africa, while in the EU additional regulations often have to be observed in accordance with EU law.
TÜV AUSTRIA Turk receives additional ECE-accreditations from the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK)
With its subsidiaries TÜV AUSTRIA Automotive in Germany and Austria, as well as TÜV AUSTRIA Mobility and TÜV AUSTRIA Turk in Europe and Asia, the Austrian group of companies in the automotive sector tests not only in the EU but also worldwide. Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) now granted TÜV AUSTRIA TURK LTD additional ECE accreditations for motor vehicles (now 59 in total), agricultural machinery and tractors (now 99 in total) and motorcycles (now 30 in total), see TÜRKAK accreditation here.
TÜV AUSTRIA Turk, the subsidiary of the Austrian TÜV with locations in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa achieved a wide scope of accreditation in the homologation sector in Turkey according to ECE regulations after corresponding audits. TÜV AUSTRIA Turk thus complements the automotive testing scope of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group.
NSAI awards authorizations according to ECE regulations
TÜV AUSTRIA Turk also scored points with the National Standards Authority of Ireland. As the authority responsible for issuing approvals for vehicles, technical units and components in accordance with ECE regulations, the NSAI increased the approval scope for TÜV AUSTRIA, see NSAI certificate here.
Selim Yilmaz, TÜV AUSTRIA Region Quality Manager Middle East & Caucasia: “The extended ECE approval scope gives our customers our fast and above all safe support in accessing their target markets.”
