TÜV AUSTRIA declaration of principles
Due to its size and organisation, the TÜV AUSTRIA Group is completely independent of suppliers, clients and association members, both in terms of technical decisions and financially.
The top management of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group is committed to complying with all national and international requirements (standards, laws and other regulations) for the operation of testing, inspection, calibration, certification, verification and notified bodies.
To ensure the impartial services of a third party, the accredited technical services (such as testing, monitoring, calibrating, certifying, verifying and conformity assessments) in particular have been clearly separated from any consulting services within the TÜV AUSTRIA Group.
The accredited testing, inspection, calibration, certification, verification and notified bodies of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group are “third party” and fulfil the national and international requirements for operating a testing body, an inspection body (type A), a calibration body, a certification body, a verification body as well as a notified body.
By means of permanent and suitable measures (committee to ensure impartiality, supervision, monitoring, internal audits, regular analysis of conflicts of interest of accredited bodies, etc.), the top management ensures that if consulting services are offered by a company of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group, only testing, inspection, certification and verification services accredited by other companies of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group are offered or performed.
Furthermore, acting with integrity is a matter of course for all employees of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group. Impartiality is supported by the complete professional freedom of instruction of the persons authorised to sign in the accredited and notified areas.
Each employee has also undertaken to disclose situations that may lead to conflicts of interest. In these cases, the report is made to the supervisor, who decides together with the employee, taking into account all legal and normative requirements, how the resolution of the conflict of interest is to be achieved. Due to the permanent employment relationship as employees with the companies of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group and due to a salary in line with the industry, there is no dependency of the testing, inspection, calibration, verification and certification personnel on the number of work performed.
