The TIC Council, the association of testing, inspection and certification companies, welcomes the European Commission’s proposal for the Cyber Resilience Act, an EU-wide legislation on cybersecurity in businesses.
The Cyber Resilience Act is intended to define basic requirements for the security of devices connected to the Internet. In September 2021, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen had proposed issuing such a directive. The aim is to raise both the level of security and user awareness globally and at European level. The Cyber Resilience Act is a response to the dynamic development of a global cybercrime scene.
Every year, cybercriminals cause billions of dollars of damage to governments, businesses, academia, and individuals. As a member of the TIC Council, the independent TÜV AUSTRIA supports the Cyber Resilience Act and will make its contribution to making the European Union a leading authority in cyber security in the coming years.
