Collaborative Process

A damage mechanism review is a collaborative process. During team sessions, maintenance, process, and inspection personnel all contribute their valuable input to our corrosion experts at TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium. This teamwork ensures that all aspects of the installation are thoroughly considered and evaluated.

Defining Integrity Loops

Typically, a damage mechanism review defines integrity loops based on process conditions. These loops are then indicated on Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and/or Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

We determine all potential failure mechanisms for each material type used within a loop. Furthermore, we establish a corrosion rate or probability of failure for each failure mechanism. This detailed analysis enables us to identify relevant inspection techniques and pinpoint critical inspection locations.
