Integrated services for above ground flat bottom storage tanks
Above-ground storage tanks (ASTs) are critical for operations in industries. Besides corrosion from the product stored in the tanks, ASTs may be subjected to specific damage mechanisms such as corrosion of the bottom plates from the soil side or due to formation of a secondary/sludge phase. Furthermore ASTs are subjected to legal requirements, such as the VLAREM environmental regulations in Flanders.
Our solution
Through our multi-disciplinary Asset Integrity team, which combines expertise in non-destructive testing, materials and corrosion engineering and regulatory inspection services, TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium ensures reliable and safe operation as well as compliance to regulations throughout the complete life cycle of storage tanks with an integrated approach.
TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium can support during design, construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance VLAREM regulations. Through its NDT capabilities, TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium can perform necessary NDT during construction. Furthermore during the service life TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium can provide full out of service inspections API 653 and EEMUA 159 including floor scans, ultrasonic testing techniques for shell and the roof, visual and remote visual inspection and assessment of settlement, tilt and the bottom Projection.
Additionally in service, we can perform acoustic emission testing to assess corrosion activity of the tank floors. To ensure regulatory compliance, TÜV Austria Belgium can perform periodic regulatory inspections according to VLAREM including remaining life analysis and follow-up of repairs. For clients opting for risk-based inspection (RBI), TÜV Austria Belgium can perform RBI assessments according to API 579 and EEMUA 159.
Furthermore TÜV Austria can provide additional services such as follow up of coating application (NACE/Frosio) and insulation (CINI) and lab services such as lab services failure analysis, drain sample analysis and soil (foundation) corrosivity analysis, damage mechanism review studies to identify potential and credible damage mechanisms on the tan, risk analysis, material compatibility assessment,…
Through our multi-disciplinary Asset Integrity team, TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium can safeguard the integrity of your storage tanks throughout their complete life cycle while ensuring regulatory compliance
