Initial Type Testing - EN 1090 Load-bearing steel and aluminium structures, TÜV AUSTRIA-certified in accordance with EN 1090. For each product type, the manufacturer must demonstrate for the first time, on a prototype, that it has suitable manufacturing facilities and production processes in place to meet the requirements of the standard and to achieve the declared component properties. Initial Type Testing becomes necessary when a new product type is introduced (new construction materials or modified manufacturing processes that affect the essential characteristics), or when production is upgraded to a higher Execution Class (EXC). EN 1090 – TÜV AUSTRIA-certified: your competitive advantage! Since 1 July 2014, only load-bearing steel and aluminium structures that comply with the EN 1090 series of standards and carry the CE marking may be placed on the market in Europe. Before CE marking, these components are subject to in-house monitoring by the manufacturer (Factory Production Control), who must ultimately issue a Declaration of Performance regarding the assured component properties. Only certified manufacturers may apply the CE marking! For manufacturer certification and the regular surveillance audits, the implementation of Factory Production Control (FPC) is the central requirement. EN ISO 3834 – Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials must be an integral part of the FPC. Initial Type Testing - EN 1090

Load-bearing steel and aluminium structures, TÜV AUSTRIA-certified in accordance with EN 1090.

For each product type, the manufacturer must demonstrate for the first time, on a prototype, that it has suitable manufacturing facilities and production processes in place to meet the requirements of the standard and to achieve the declared component properties.
