Solution: Industrial Radiography Bunker

TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium operates a large industrial radiography bunker, specifically designed for testing components under controlled and safe conditions. The facility enables us to perform radiographic examinations of metallic and non-metallic materials while ensuring compliance with current legal requirements and radiation safety standards. 

Following the Royal Decree of 17 February 2023 (published 3 April 2023), on-site use of radiography has become increasingly restricted. As of April 2025, radiographic testing of smaller components (<500 kg and 1 m3) must be carried out in a dedicated bunker facility. TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium’s bunker fully complies with these requirements and provides a safe, legally conform solution for industrial radiography. 

The bunker setup allows for: 

• Large bunker facility with following dimensions: 19m x 6m 
• Overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 3,2 tonnes and a forklift  
• Radiographic testing of components 
• Safe containment of radiation sources during exposure 
• Full compliance with FANC guidelines and the Belgian Royal Decree of 17 February 2023
