TÜV AUSTRIA has expanded its laboratory capabilities with the addition of a new salt spray cabinet and advanced equipment for viscosity and non‑volatile matter measurements.
The new salt spray cabinet significantly increases our capacity for conducting accelerated corrosion tests, enabling us to assess the durability and performance of coating systems under demanding environmental conditions. These tests are essential for verifying the suitability and long‑term protective quality of coatings across a wide range of industrial applications.
In addition, the laboratory has been equipped with instrumentation to perform Stormer-Krebs viscosity measurements (ASTM D562) and determine the non‑volatile matter content of wet paint samples. By comparing the viscosity of field samples with corresponding batch references, our experts can accurately determine whether paints have been mixed and prepared correctly before application. This capability enhances the reliability of coating assessments and strengthens our already extensive portfolio of coating evaluations and on-site inspection services.
Furthermore, our autoclave laboratory is further being developed to support advanced material testing under harsh and extreme conditions, enabling reliable evaluation of material performance in high‑pressure and high‑temperature environments.
With these investments, TÜV AUSTRIA reinforces its commitment to providing high‑quality, comprehensive testing solutions for coating performance, application control, and corrosion protection.
